Pelagic Thresher Shark (Alopias pelagicus) swimming in midwater in Monad Shoal, Malapascua, Philippines. With its large pectoral fins, it resembles a plane in flight. Threshers use their long tails to whip and stun prey.

Monad Shoal is the only dive spot in the world where these graceful sharks can be seen daily. They swim up from the depths before sunrise to get cleaned by wrasses.
